TANTOMO: Week 13 Update (August 18, 2014 – August 24, 2014)

There is one week left in the TANTOMO walking challenge. A total of 86 employees have made it to Moab and as a clinic we have walked 38,626 miles! All employees that make it to Moab will be entered into a drawing for amazing prizes. The drawing winners will be announced and contacted Wednesday, September 3rd. All miles need to be reported no later than Tuesday, September 2nd at 5:00 pm. It is not too late to report miles from past weeks.

Walking Tip of the Week: Exercising at a particular heart rate enables you to gauge the difficulty of your workout. You can check your heart rate by manually checking your pulse or by purchasing and using a simple heart rate monitor. Most recommendations suggest starting out at 70% to 75% of your maximum heart rate.

TANTOMO: Week 11 Update (August 4, 2014 – August 10, 2014)

As a clinic, we have walked a total of 36,885 miles and 65 employees have made it to Moab! Don’t miss the employee wellness lunch walk tomorrow (Thursday, August 14^th) from 12:25 – 1:00 pm. It is not too late to report miles from past weeks.

Walking Tip of the Week: Push off with your toes. Concentrate on landing on your heel, rolling through the step and pushing off with your toes. Use the natural spring of your calf muscles to propel you forward.

TANTOMO: Week 10 Update (June 28, 2014 – August 3, 2014)

Congratulations to all 57 employees who have made it to Moab as of week 10! As a clinic, we have walked a total of 35,757.15 miles. Don’t miss the employee wellness lunch walk on Thursday, August 14^th from 12:25 – 1:00 pm. The lunch walk flyer on the URTC has more information about the walk.

Walking Tip of the Week: Wear a broad brimmed hat and use a broad spectrum sunscreen SPF 15+ on any exposed skin. Avoid the hottest times of the day and keep to shaded areas.
